Winter, Brayden's Bday, Island Park

I thought I would post all of this in one. We took our annual trip to Island Park on the 15th of February. My parents and my brothers family all came. We had a great time visiting, playing in the snow and snowmobiling. There was a lot of snow to play in but the weather was perfect.

On Monday the 18th was Brayden's 5th birthday. We celebrated while we were at the cabin, on the way home and when we got home. He had a great birthday. The present that he liked the most was the snowboard that he got. He loves it and he is getting good at it.

This winter has been a good one around here. I had to include some pictures of our yard and all the snow we have. We have had a beautiful week and it makes me want spring to come. Then I look at all the snow and realize that it will be a long time before we see the grass again!

The twins are doing well and everything is going well with the pregnancy. We are hoping to find out what they are on April 8th.
The house is coming along great. We have the plumbing and the insulation done so now we get to start sheetrock. I am excited!

TWINS!!!!!!!

Yep! It is true. On friday I went to the doctor for my first appointment and on the ultrasound we found out that we are having twins!! I know it is a shock to us too. I have cried many tears over this. Now there is nothing else to do but be excited and look forward to our new arrivals. My due date is in August sometime. We are going to have a very exciting summer. Now we are just working on getting the house finished so we can get moved in before the twins come. We won't be able to find out if they are boys or girls for about 6 more weeks. We will keep everyone updated and let you know as soon as we find out. If you see any good sales on diapers let me know!!!!

Foxworthy on Wyoming

I received an email the other day and it was so funny and so true that I had to share some of it with you. It is Foxworthy on Wyoming. Here are just a few of the funny things that was said:

If you consider it a sport to gather your food by drilling through 18 inches of ice and sitting there all day hoping that the food will swim by, you might live in Wyo.

If your local Dairy Queen is closed from November through March, you might live in Wyo.

If you have worn shorts and a parka at the same time, you might live in Wyo.

If your town has an equal number of bars and churches, you might live in Wyo.

If your dad's suntan stops at a line curving around the middle of his forehead, you might live in Wyo.

YOU KNOW YOU ARE A TRUE WYOMINGITE WHEN:

"Vacation" means going east or west on I-80 for the weekend.

You measure distance in hours.

You often switch from "heat" to "A/C" in the same day and back again.

You can drive 65 mph through 2 feet of snow during a raging blizzard, without flinching.

You know several people who have hit a deer more than once

You install security lights on your house and garage and leave both unlocked.

You know all 4 seasons: almost winter, winter, still winter and road construction.

You actually understand these jokes, and you forward them to all your friends....Sad....but true!!!

I read this last part and started laughing because I understand all of these jokes and I did forward this to all of my friends because this is true life in Wyoming. I hope that you all get a good laugh from this and think of your friend who lives in Wyoming!!!!

Merry Christmas

We had a very fun Christmas this year. This was the first year that we have stayed home. The past years we have been in Salt Lake with my family. But with Christmas on a weekday we were not able to leave. Justin works for UPS and this is a very busy time of year for them. He has to work Christmas eve and they day after Christmas. So we were just home this year. It was kind of nice to just be home and not have to haul all of our stuff to and from. The boys were so excited this year. Me and the boys spent Christmas eve with our friends. Justin didn't get off work until 10pm that night. We had fun with our friends eating dinner and playing games. Christmas morning was funny. Peyton was actually the first one to wake up. He got up went out and sat on the couch and did nothing. Justin we out to see what he was doing. Justin asked if Sanat came and Peyton said no, Brayden did it. Justin finally convinced him that Santa came and that we need to go wake up Brayden. Then the fun began. They were so excited over all the presents. Santa brought some snow boogie boards, Brayden saw them and said I didn't ask for that why did Santa bring it? Ahh, kids.

My boys

My two cute boys in front of the Christmas tree. Aren't they handsome?

Here is a pciture of our house with the roof almost done. They got almost all the way done and were about 8 singles short. It looks really nice now that it is done (almost)

Catching up

Well I haven't blogged for a while so I thought I better catch up. So now you get to look at lots of pictures and read it all. I hope that you enjoy.

Justin was making deliveries just down the road the other day and he saw these deer. They were right off the road and not scared at all. So Justin came home and got the camera and took some pictures. I hope that you enjoy them.

We usually go get a christmas tree on Thanksgiving weekend but this year we didn't get that done. December 3rd we were driving somewhere and Brayden said see everyone has a christmas tree but us. We are going to get a tree tomarrow. So the next morning at 8am we were up getting a tree. It was a quick trip but it was lots of fun. Here are a few pictures!

Thanksgiving weekend my parents came and had dinner with us and then that evening my brother and his family came to spend the weekend with us. We worked on the house and got lots of work done. We played games, went to a parade and had lots of fun together.

Wow! We got a show while the turkey was carved!!!

Costumes

Here are some pictures of our pirate and our fireman. They looked so cute! Peyton had just woke up from a nap so he wasn't too happy about taking pictures. Brayden was very exctied about halloween! We had a fun day!

Halloween

We had a fun halloween this year. We were in Salt Lake the weekend before halloween and so we were able to spend time with my family. We had fun carving the pumpkins and going to a halloween party. Brayden was so excited to go trick or treating. Peyton wasn't too sure what this was all about. Since most of the houses around here are so far away from each other we have a trunk or treat at the grocery store parking lot. The kids get to walk around and get candy there. The grocery store gives out hot cider and doughnuts and the fire department gives out hot chocolate. It is a fun time. Then at the church there was a halloween carnival. So we had a great time. Peyton was so funny when we were trick or treating. He was trying to figure out what was going on. He just stared at all the people dressed up. He did like the candy though!

Kittens

A few days ago there were 3 kittens out in the road. So we went and got them off the road and tried to find their mother. But there was not mother to be found. So we took them home and fed them with a dropper. Brayden and Peyton loved the cats. They were so cute. We kept them over night and tried to find the mother the next day but had no luck. As much as the boys wanted to keep them it was just not something that we could do. So we called the Humane Society and they took the cats. We has fun with them while they were here.

All wrapped up

We finally got the house wrap on and the water and ice shield on the house. We got it done just in time for a big snow storm to hit. We woke up to about 12 inches of snow! Amazing. It is just starting to melt away after a week. Justin and my dad worked hard all last week to get the house closed in. The windows arrived the other day and they got most of them put in. The house looks really nice. I will post more pictures soon.

Update

I haven't blogged for a while so I thought I would add a few pictures and tell you what our family has been up to the last few weeks. The fall colors have been beautiful but it has been getting cold and we have had snow in the mountains but this last weekend we had about 4 inches of snow in our yard. Justin got excited and got the snomobile out and took a little ride around the yard. The boys loved it. But the sun came out today and it was beautiful! Brayden has been working hard learning how to tie his shoes. He is doing great! Peyton is getting potty trained. He is doing well when he wants to. So slow and easy does it! He loves the treats he gets after he goes potty! It is fun to see them get so excited when they have learned something new. We have been working hard on the house. We are getting ready to put the roof on, windows in and the house wrap on. We are praying the weather holds out for the next few weeks until we get that done. Our dog Sam went to the vet last week and got fixed so he got some TLC from all of us. I couldn't pass up the cute picture of Sam and the kids. So that is what we have been up to. We hope to hear from all of you soon!

Brayden's riding a 2 wheeler!!!!!!

Look at him go!! Tonight we went to the church and took off Brayden's training wheels. He was a little scared at first but then he took off and is doing great. It helped that his friend was there riding his two wheeler. Brayden saw him riding and decided that he could do it too. He was cruising around all night. When we finally got him to come inside he said, "Mom tomorrow we are going to go ride bikes again!" It is so fun to see them learn and grow.

Up we go!

We have finally started on the second story of our house. It was quite a sight to see me and Justin try to stand those walls by ourselves. I wasn't strong enough so we had to call in some help. We are so thankful for everyone who has helped us. We are hoping to get everything ready so by Labor Day weekend we can put the trusses on and get the house enclosed.
